EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
No new scientific breakthrough—but a meaningful step in engineering integration
There was no new logical-qubit or fault-tolerance breakthrough this week. The key change was IBM completing its acquisition of HRL Laboratories, adding silicon-spin, quantum-materials, cryogenic-control, packaging and advanced-manufacturing capabilities.
Quantum competition is moving from who has more qubits to who can build, connect and deliver a stable system.
