EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Executive Summary
This week’s most important signal is not a sudden deterioration in chip demand. AI infrastructure demand remains exceptionally strong, while the risk premium on new financing has risen materially. CoreWeave Q2 captures the divergence: orders, backlog and CapEx continue to climb, but new financing yields have moved above 10%.
ACIS Global Risk Score: 52/100 | Neutral → Slight Risk-Off. Equities appear calm, but rates, oil, gold and credit are less relaxed; a low VIX may understate macro and credit risk.
The AI infrastructure cycle is not ending. It is entering Phase III: Financing Matters.
01 · GLOBAL LIQUIDITY & CREDIT
Calm liquidity, a deeper credit warning
ⓘ Definitions, score bands and signal guide ↗| Indicator | Latest Reading | ACIS View |
|---|---|---|
| DXY | 99.83 | 🟡 Neutral / slightly tight |
| US 10Y | ~4.69%–4.73% | 🟠 Pressure on growth equities |
| MOVE | ~75 | 🟢 Bond volatility contained |
| VIX | 15.28 | 🟢 Equity risk appetite intact |
| USD/JPY | ~159.3 | 🟠 Elevated carry/intervention risk |
| USD/CNY | ~6.745 | 🟢 Stable |
| Brent | $88.91 | 🟠 Renewed inflation risk |

AICSI|AI Credit Stress Indicator (higher means more stress) 74 / 100
AICSI has entered Credit Watch. This is not an AI credit crisis, but the signal is no longer green. ORCL and CoreWeave warrant the closest attention; NVDA and META are near the yellow-light threshold.
| Company | 5Y CDS / Credit Status | ACIS |
|---|---|---|
| NVDA | ~80–82bp | 🟢→🟡 |
| MSFT | Healthy IG range; wider vs. 2025 | 🟢 |
| GOOG | ~60–70bp range | 🟢 |
| AMZN | ~60–70bp range | 🟢 |
| META | ~90–95bp | 🟡 Near 100bp |
| ORCL | ~198–215bp | 🔴 Elevated stress |
| CoreWeave | New financing yield >10% | 🔴 |
Portfolio rule: CDS alone does not trigger de-risking. A material portfolio action requires confirmation from widening credit spreads, downward hyperscaler CapEx revisions and weakening backlog/orders.
02 · HYPERSCALER CAPEX & CAPITAL FLOW
The shared signal is not overbuying, but insufficient capacity
- Alphabet:2026 CapEx raised from $180–190B to $195–205B to accelerate capacity delivery.
- Amazon:2026 CapEx of about $220B; AWS Q2 revenue reached ~$42.2B, up ~37% YoY.
- Meta:2026 CapEx range narrowed with a higher floor, from $125–145B to $130–145B.
- Microsoft:Q4 CapEx was ~$41B, with roughly two-thirds allocated to shorter-lived compute assets such as GPUs and CPUs; Azure demand still exceeds available capacity.
CapEx Signal: 🟢🟢🟢. All four hyperscalers continue to confirm strong demand.
Capital Rotation
Semiconductors corrected sharply in July, yet ETF flows were strongly positive: approximately $6.9B into SOXX and $4.5B into SMH. The combination of price weakness and dip-buying looks more like high-level deleveraging and reallocation than the classic cycle-top pattern of falling prices and capital withdrawal. Early August brought short-term profit-taking; the medium-term flow signal remains green, while the near-term signal is yellow.
SOXX trades near $534.2 and SMH near $572.9; as of 10 August, SMH remained up roughly 58% YTD. The central tension has shifted from demand to valuation and crowding. ACIS positioning: AI infrastructure fundamentals A; semiconductor price/valuation B-/B; wait for pullbacks rather than chase new exposure.
03 · SUPPLY CHAIN & CYCLE
Healthy broadening across the supply chain
There is no clear evidence of material inventory-cycle deterioration across GPUs, networking, HBM or advanced packaging.
| Segment | Latest Validation | Signal |
|---|---|---|
| GPU / Advanced Nodes | TSMC raised its 2026 USD revenue growth outlook to slightly above 40%; AI remains a multi-year structural megatrend. | 🟢 |
| Networking | Arista Q2 revenue of ~$3.036B, +37.7% YoY and +12.1% QoQ. | 🟢 |
| Memory / HBM | Micron has largely locked 2026 HBM volume and pricing; HBM4 volume shipments have begun. | 🟢 |
| Advanced Packaging | Capacity expansion continues, with 2027 supply preparation progressing. | 🟢 |
Power, cooling and data centers
Vertiv Q2 sales reached approximately $3.274B, up 24% YoY; adjusted EPS rose about 60%, and the company again raised key 2026 guidance. Q3 organic sales growth is guided to roughly 34%–36%. Demand is broadening from GPUs into networking, power, cooling and data centers.
CoreWeave|Healthy Expansion → Leveraged Expansion
| Metric | Latest Reading / Change |
|---|---|
| Revenue | Q2 ~$2.58B, +112% YoY |
| Revenue Backlog | ~$104.2B, excluding >$25B of new customer commitments added early in Q3 |
| Capacity | ~500MW of compute power added in Q2; near-term capacity remains substantially sold out |
| 2026 CapEx | Raised from $31–35B to $35–39B; Q2 alone ~$9.4B |
| Pricing / Contracts | Sold-out near-term capacity supports more favorable compute contract terms |
| Managed Inference | Annualized run rate rose rapidly from ~$1M to ~$100M |
| Credit / Financing | ~$2.6B new loan financing priced above 10%, roughly SOFR + 5.5% |
This is not overcapacity, and the cycle has not yet entered balancing. A genuine yellow/red transition would require concurrent weakness in backlog, capacity utilization, pricing and CapEx.
Asset Read-Through
Fundamentals confirmed; valuation yellow. Maintain core exposure without chasing.
Larger AI clusters continue to increase network complexity and switching demand.
Power density, liquid cooling and electrical infrastructure remain in strong structural demand.
NBIS hinges on execution; NVDA demand remains strong, with credit and valuation requiring continued monitoring.

Financing costs and debt constraints became cycle variables, even as the physical supply chain continued to accelerate.
Markets are beginning to ask who ultimately funds the immense AI buildout, and at what cost.
Monitor AICSI diffusion, CapEx revisions, orders/backlog, SOXX/SMH flows, NVDA supply-chain guidance and neocloud financing costs.
DOWNGRADE RULEDowngrade AI Infrastructure from Healthy Expansion to Cycle Alert if three of four conditions appear: further credit deterioration, the first CapEx cuts, weaker backlog and persistent ETF outflows.
